Dear Members of the OTHS School Community,
Illinois School Code requires that schools conduct a law enforcement lockdown drill to address a school shooting incident each academic year.
OTHS will hold ALICE Training, presented by the Ottawa Police Department, on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 2nd-3rd, 2025 to prepare students and staff for such an event.
The drill itself will be held on Thursday, September 4th, 2025. Faculty will review procedures and answer students’ questions during the drill. The drill will not be an active shooter simulation or mimic an active shooter event in any way.
If you have concerns about your child participating in the drill, please contact the school as necessary.
